Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need an account?

No. Dot works without an account, name, or email. Your progress is saved on your device.

What's free, and what is Dot Pro?

Every day you get three free lesson or practice sessions, plus the daily puzzle, which is always free. Dot Pro is an optional subscription that unlocks unlimited sessions and focused mistake review.

How do I restore Dot Pro on a new or reinstalled device?

Open Dot, go to the You tab, and tap Restore purchases. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple Account you used to subscribe.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Open the Settings app on your iPhone, tap your name at the top, tap Subscriptions, choose Learn Mahjong with Dot, and tap Cancel Subscription. You keep Dot Pro until the end of the current billing period.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, find the purchase, and choose Request a refund.

Will I lose my progress if I get a new phone?

Your progress is stored on your device. It moves to a new iPhone when you restore from an iCloud or computer backup. Deleting the app deletes its progress.

Does Dot work offline?

Yes. Lessons, practice, and the daily puzzle all work without a connection. You only need the internet to view plans, subscribe, or restore purchases.

How do I turn daily reminders on or off?

In Dot, go to the You tab and use the Daily reminder switch. You can also manage notifications for Dot in your iPhone's Settings.

Are these the official card hands?

No. Dot teaches with original practice patterns written for learning how to read a card. They are not hands from any official card, and Dot is not affiliated with the National Mah Jongg League. Table customs vary, so confirm house rules with your group.

I think a lesson has a mistake. How do I report it?

Thank you! Email info@dawnshardsoftware.com with the lesson name, the question, and what you think is wrong. A screenshot helps a lot.
